Dal 1° giugno arriva al Museo AMO di Verona in anteprima una mostra fotografica dedicata al Festival Lirico dell’Arena di Verona: I volti dell’Opera. La grandiosità delle scenografie, i protagonisti dello spettacolo, il fascino discreto del backstage. Circa 50 immagini, scattate tra il 2012 e il 2013 da Sirio, Alessandra e Filippo Tommasoli, raccontano i particolari dei grandi spettacoli nel teatro lirico all’aperto più grande al mondo: la preparazione dei cantanti e delle scenografie, le prove, il pubblico in attesa, direttori d’orchestra e grandi registi al lavoro, l’emozione generale che da oltre un secolo rende Verona una delle capitali della cultura lirica.

Con un innovativo sguardo che corre parallelamente tra il dietro le quinte – celato agli occhi del pubblico – e la visione che si apre allo spettatore, le immagini evocano, quadro dopo quadro, l’atmosfera unica e maestosa che caratterizza i numerosi allestimenti che dal 1913 si susseguono nel Festival lirico ospitato nell’anfiteatro romano simbolo della città. Verona è l’Arena e l’Arena è Opera. Ma l’Opera non è solo spettacolo: è anche tutta la preparazione che lo precede. Attraverso tagli particolari e suggestivi, emerge il complesso e lungo lavoro che coinvolge centinaia di persone che collaborano, ognuno con la propria arte, alla realizzazione di spettacoli che creano un cartellone celebre in tutto il mondo. Lo spettatore potrà quindi ammirare, immortalate nelle fotografie, la grandiosità delle regie e delle scenografie appositamente realizzate da autori internazionali, il coinvolgimento di un pubblico unico al mondo, le diverse personalità dei direttori d’orchestra, i rituali, le emozioni e il glamour degli interpreti nei camerini, il palcoscenico delle prove e i protagonisti sulla scena.

La mostra è promossa da Fondazione Arena di Verona e prodotta in collaborazione con Archivio Tommasoli con il fondamentale contributo di ATF Funivia Malcesine-Monte Baldo e Consorzio Lago di Garda Veneto.
